| Duncan Wood I’ve been a sports junkie my whole life. My father was training for the Toronto Marathon so I joined him on runs. Turns out, I hated running. But I stuck with it on a recreational level until I met my coach who has helped me achieve my goals. I qualified for the Canadian AG triathlon and Duathlon teams every year since 2001. I run because I enjoy the adrenaline rush at the start. It’s exciting to see how a race will unfold when you know you’ve given your all during training.” |
| Carolyn Hubbard Age: 42 Carolyn’s Story I used to play tennis and the clarinet until my dad talked me into one track meet. I was scouted by a National Team Coach to train and went on to win Nationals that year in the 3000m. I attended LSU on scholarship and continued to race nationally and internationally until I suffered an Achilles injury. During the healing process, I began cross-training, which led me into triathlons. Six National Elite teams and two sets of twins later, I’m having a great 2009. I love being a goof and jumping on the trampoline with Matais, Aneliese, Kim and Mikaila. |
